Experience

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner across the life span. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered psychiatric nurse with the state of New Jersey for over eight years. I had the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to treat patients from adolescent to geriatric with several diagnoses.

I have worked as a nurse practitioner for seven years in several capacities. Additionally, my experience comprises in-patient, outpatient, and crisis intervention settings. I have worked with state and private-owned clinics. My background encompasses the treatment of all mental health illnesses.

I am a healthcare professional dedicated to providing personalized and comprehensive care to patients. My clinical experience includes consultation and treatment of various psychiatric illnesses. I am open to suggestions because personal freedom and responsibility are pivotal in creating treatment plans. Therefore, I welcome  your comments.

Experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, practicing in this field for several years.  My approach involves creating an integrative and individualized plan to fit each client’s therapeutic needs. Sometimes we need a neutral and unbiased person to motive us when we are unable to motivate ourselves. Changing patterns of behavior, ways of thinking and relating to others can be difficult and requires patience and understanding.

Over the years, I have gained a wide range of experience working in outpatient, partial care, and higher education settings. The nature of my experience includes providing individual, family, and group therapy to a varied population (i.e., marital/couples issues, depression, anxiety, academic problems, crisis intervention, addictions, and many more).

Initial sessions are focused on rapport building.  I strive to provide a safe place to experience and process their emotions, identify unhelpful patterns, and learn healthy coping skills.  My approach is tailored to the individual’s therapeutic needs. My overall goal is to equip each client with the skills needed in order to manage all of the stressors that they might experience in their daily life

I am a New Jersey state Licensed Associate Counselor. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University. Your overall wellbeing is important to me as you move through your different environments. I hope that you take the time for yourself in this fast-paced world and let’s address your needs and your strengths.

What are your strengths? That is a question I will ask, and whether you know the answer or not right away doesn’t matter. What matters is that you will be provided an open, active listening space with which to speak and process your feelings and actions. I am a strength-based Therapist who will focus not just on your presenting concerns or symptoms but you as an entire person, navigating your world. There are no two people who are the same, and your uniqueness will be honored. I became a therapist after years of mentoring teens and emerging adults, volunteering with Big Brothers & Sisters of Newark, NJ and Covenant House in Newark NJ, seeking to expand my knowledge and be able to offer additional services and advocacy.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing services to individuals, adults, and families. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health from Montclair State University.  My approach involves creating a safe space for my clients to share their concerns and express themselves. I Believe that an important part of therapy is meeting each individual where they are. Therapy is not just for those experiencing a life crisis or those navigating a difficult situation. Therapy is an opportunity to learn new skills, gain new insights and explore new healthier ways of navigating life.
